The American Express Trophy

Our team at Amex OnBrand had the honor of designing the 2024 trophy for The American Express Tournament at PGA West in La Quinta, CA.

We proposed a minimalist design inspired by hole 17, famously known as “Alcatraz.” Showcasing this iconic hole on the trophy serves as a tribute to the players and spectators who experience the remarkable skill and focus required to succeed there. The process also required us to navigate several design constraints related to material and manufacturing.

In my role as ACD, I helped guide and push the team’s initial ideas and concepts, which ultimately led to the exploration of different types of glass. This process involved an extensive evolution of design directions and close collaboration with Waterford Crystal, renowned experts in crafting crystal trophies.
